WHO CAN DO YOUR EXAM

Only persons that are approved providers by Royal Caribbean Group

WHEN TO GET YOUR MEDICAL EXAM

Once you have received your letter from the US Embassy with a date and time of your appointment, you can schedule your medical examination to be completed.

WHAT DOES THE MEDICAL ENTAIL (PEME and REME)

  • Full medical history
  • Full examination of all systems (including genital and rectal exams)
  • Chest X-ray (only for PEME)
  • ECG (if indicated)
  • Blood investigations: FBC, metabolic panel, urinalysis, Hepatitis A, B and C screen, HIV, drug screen (if indicated – stool OCP, HBA1C, eGFR, Thyroid studies, CD4 count and viral load)
  • Eye tests – visual acuity, colour vision, field test
  • Hearing test (audiogram if indicated)
  • Stool test (for food and beverage)
  • Any other investigations/specialist visits required depending on medical history

WHAT TO BRING

  • Passport
  • Seaman’s book
  • Immunization record (for MMR and Influenza)
  • Medications
  • Medical reports
  • Specialist reports

 

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

As per COVID protocols:

  • you will be asked about any flu like symptoms at the door of the facility
  • on entering, you will be asked to sanitize your hands
  • your temperature will be recorded
  • you are asked to sign in with your name, contact number and time of arrival

 

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

  • Receptionist staff will ask for your documents that you were asked to bring
  • You identity will be checked with your passport
  • A nursing assistant will check your Height and Weight with your shoes off
  • The doctor will complete your medical
  • Blood and urine tests, CXR and other investigations will be completed

ONCE THE EXAMINATION IS COMPLETE

Once the medical is completed and all results are reviewed, the medical will be uploaded to the portal for submission to Royal Caribbean
